THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
Ac Or Furnace Tune Ups
Dont fall for the cheap tune up offers
Yes, your system needs serviced annually to ensure its working properly. However, across the midwest havc industry, is costs about $54 an hour to put a technician and truck on the road. This includes their hourly pay, employee benifits, truck payment, insurance, gas and payroll taxes. So, why would a company send a technician to your home, with an average time of 2 hours (including drive time), for $39 * $49 * $59 or $79
Doesn’t makes any sense. if its costng the company $108 on average, then why are they doing $59 tune ups.
It’s because the are going to “notice something”. They won’t say “found something” because they have been trained to not say found. If you find something, then you must have been looking for it. If you notice something, then it must have been obvious. Yes, they have been trained. They are highly trained salespersons and they usually get incitivised to sale the products and services they offer. Don’t fall for the cheap tune up offers. Please do your research.
Air Duct Cleaning
Dont fall for cheap duct cleaning offers.
Air duct cleaning is neccisary and a benefit to almost every home at some point. On average it cost a company about $94 an hour to have 2 technicians in a duct cleaning truck. Typically, it takes about 5 to 6 hours with drive time to perform a proper duct cleaning. 1 hour dirve time, 1.5 hours set up and tear down, 3 hours to perform a proper duct cleaning.
Once agian, why would someone charge you from $69 to $250 to perform a duct cleaning that will cost them $500 to complete.
Usually, they will pull out a petri dish and tell you that you have a mold-like substance in your ductwork. This now turns into a complete ductwork starilisation or replacement. They will often try to get your insurance company involved and this just turned into a multy thousand dollar project. If you refuse to act on the mold like substance, they will tell you that they cannot perform the duct cleaning because it is unsafe for their employees. Please do your research, these are usually remediation or owned my remidiation companies.

-
How often should I schedule HVAC maintenance?
We recommend scheduling HVAC maintenance at least once a year. It’s best to get it in the spring or the fall. Regular maintenance helps prevent breakdowns, improves efficiency, and extends the lifespan of your system.
-
How do I know if I need an HVAC replacement?
If your system is more than 10-15 years old, often needs repairs, or struggles to maintain the right temperature, it may be time for a replacement. A new system will be more energy-efficient and cost-effective in the long run.
-
What are the benefits of a water softener?
A water softener removes hard minerals like calcium and magnesium. This prevents scale buildup in pipes and appliances. Installing it will result in cleaner dishes, softer skin and hair, longer-lasting appliances, and improved water efficiency.
